PTA is putting together the slate of officers for next year’s PTA Executive Board and also filling several open committee chair positions. This is a great opportunity to get more involved in your child’s school. We would love to have some new volunteers. Several of our open positions can be CoChaired, so if you and a friend would like to get involved, we would love to have you. Open Board Positions
President: Oversees all aspects of TR PTA
Executive VP: works closely with President and oversees specific chair positions
Financial Secretary : Counts money with treasurer, usually once per week
Recording Secretary: Takes notes at meeting and types minutes
Corresponding Secretary: Sends PTA emails, answers mail, listens to PTA voicemails
Parliamentarian: Puts together nominating committee for following year, understands current PTA bylaws and makes sure bylaws are followed throughout year
Auditor: twice per year goes over the treasurers reports and verifies balances
Carnival: coordinates and plans carnival (Can be Co-Chaired)
Community Partners: mainly deals with Box Tops and planning classroom and gradelevel competitions and prizes. (Can be Co-Chaired)
Educational Rewards: purchases (with PTA monies) and distributes reading rewards and st math rewards. (Can be Co-Chaired)
5th Grade Celebration: plans and coordinates activities and event for end of year celebration. (Can be Co-Chaired)
Middle School Fundraiser: plans and organizes PTA fundraiser for MS, has been a JOGATHON for the past several years. (Can be Co-Chaired)
Advocacy: attends advocacy meeting on the district level, receives info on advocacy and reports back to PTA
Disaster Prep and Safety: makes sure disaster prep backpacks have needed materials.
Parent Workshops: Organizes informational sessions throughout the school year on topics related to parenting and education. (Can be Co-Chaired)
Elementary Spirit Wear: Design, organize sales and distribution of Spirit Wear for elementary school.
